Rationale for National Webinar on

ETHICS & INTEGRITY- IN LIFE AND RESEARCH

Dates- 1st April, 2022, Time – 6.0 to 8.0 PM

A very warm welcome to the invited guest, faculty and participants to this One day National Webinar on Ethics and Integrity.

This is Dr P. Mary Anupama, coordinator of the webinar from the Dept of Biochemistry, St. Joseph’s College for women, Visakhapatnam.

We are all encouraged to make ethical choices and apply ethics in all areas of our lives

We can think of ethics as the principles that guide our behavior toward making the best choices that contribute to the common good of all. Ethics is what guides us to tell the truth, keep our promises, or help someone in need. There is a framework of ethics underlying our lives on a daily basis, helping us make decisions that create positive impacts and steering us away from unjust outcomes. Ethics guides us to make the world a better place through the choices we make.

Ethics is a system of principles that helps us tell right from wrong, good from bad. Ethics can give real and practical guidance to our lives. Ethical values (i.e. honesty, trustworthiness, responsibility) help guide us along a pathway to deal more effectively with ethical dilemmas by eliminating those behaviours that do not confirm to our sense of right and wrong – our best rational interests – without sacrificing others.

The first chief guest was introduced by Dr Anupama, while the 2nd speaker was introduced by Ms Veena Spandana of Dept. of English.

Report

1st April, 2022, time 6 to 8 PM

Smt Bhagya Lakshmi mam, the first guest speaker for the national webinar says that ethics- includes- loves, sacrifice, honesty, integrity, broad mindedness, moral values and so on. If everyone has good values- every ones personality will develop. Then entire society will develop, no conflict- successful society and peace will prevail.

Success means- Having goal in life and reach that goal. How to identify goal is very important for every human being when they are alive. Death is inevitable. After we die and When every dead body goes people will talk behind. Some praise, some talk bad. We have to live in such a way that we leave a mark in people’s heart. Be good to all, give your best and keep helping people.

We are living for 3 top things- name and fame, success and money. Earn these while maintaining proper ethics in life.
