ABOUT THE WEBINAR:

Biomedical Engineering is a multidisciplinary field that applies biology and engineering for biology and engineering for the fields of medicine and health care. It covers a broad arrays of subjects from developing implants and prosthetic s, tissue engineering to genetic engineering and aspects of physics, math, software to material sciences for the development of devices and diagnostics. The webinar covers basics of the field to the Role of Artificial Intelligence in Medical Imaging.

The guest speaker Prof. Sri krishna captivated audience on the Correlative light and Cryo- Electron microscopy Technological revolution and Biomedical applications.

Ms Ramani Dhanaraj, Head of the dept. of Office management has led the event.

Dr P. Mary Anupama, Incharge of the dept and coordinator for the event organized the webinar along with Dr Mousami Shankar Adala. 

A total of 491 participants from over 50 colleges have participated in the live event.

 The Department of Biochemistry, St. Joseph's College for Women, Gnanapuram , Visakhapatnam was established in the year 2008. Having facilitated students by imparting theoretical skills ad practical skills, the department wishes to promote the sense of self awareness on immunity and create confidence among people through this awareness quiz on immunity. The quiz received 2058 responses from various colleges across the globe. Around 1100 institutes have took part in the quiz.

Participation in GWEST 2020- A international virtual Conference by the Biochemistry Department

 Dr Anupama, Ms Vaishnavi and Ms Navya have participated and presented papers in GWEST a two day International conference organized by BITS, Visakhapatnam during the dates 13th and 14th July, 2020.
