THYROID TESTING CAMP AT SJCW

Student Coordinators- Biochemistry Minor students – Final year Botany, Zoology and Biotechnology students with AICUF leads

 

The Department of Biochemistry and AICUF, of St. Joseph's College for Women (A), in collaboration with Aadi Hospitals, NAD, Visakhapatnam and Amazon India, has invited faculty, non-teaching staff, supporting staff, and degree students to a one-day Basic Thyroid Testing Camp.

 

Free Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) Testing

- Anyone above 18 years old can get their TSH levels tested for free.

- Abbott Pharma Limited, an international pharmaceutical company, is sponsoring the tests, supported by Amazon India.

Event Details

- Date: 24th July 2025

- Time: 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM

- Eligibility: Anyone above 18 years old

 

A total of 150 people above the age of 18 years registered for the event and got their blood samples tested. This includes faulty and non-teaching staff of SJCW , students of SJCW, Teaching and non-teaching staff from Sacred heart school and St. Joseph’s School

 

The camp was inaugurated by the principal Dr. Sr. Shyji, with faculty coordinators. Doctor from Aadhi hospital provided consultancy. They helped measure the vitals of the people who came and then it was the Abott Phlebotomist who collected blood samples. Some people did not their blood groups. Over 38 Blood group determination was done by 2nd Year BSc Biochemistry major students and final year Biotechnology major students. Reports were given was four days of the test.
