WORLD SPARROW DAY BY DEPT. OF BIOCHEMISTRY

Date- 20-03-2022

COORDINATORS-

Dr. P. Mary Anupama

Dr Mousami Shankar Addala

Mode- Online submission

The day is to create awareness on was to save these birds whose population is decreasing with time due to radiations emitted by mobile phone towers. Though many guidelines were given, still we find a decline in their populations. This is because of habitat loss, lack of food and water for them to nest and survive.

To inculcate the value of caring for nature, the students were asked to perform some nature care activity and take a pic and submit.

Among the received ones, the following are the best initiatives,

Miss Roshini started feeding sparrows by setting up feeding nests. She made them and started feeding them

Miss Mamatha started feeding sparrows from that day

Miss Potnuru Rajeswari- takes care of parrots and feeds them daily.
